Men who suffer from insomnia are more likely to die

U.S. researchers warned that men who suffer from chronic insomnia and sleep less than 6 hours a night, more likely to die early.



The new study lasted 14 years that men who suffer from insomnia are at 4 times more likely to die who "enjoy a good sleep", as stated to a network, "CNN's" American.



The study found that when you add the factors of diabetes and high blood pressure, it is men who complain of insomnia and 7 times more likely to die than those who do not complain of sleep problems.

 The lead author of the study, Dr. Alexandros Vgontzas Zhou Professor of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, "We expect to discover something, but we were surprised by the size of the results."



The study showed that chronic insomnia and lack of sleep in women does not cause a rise in the proportion of deaths of women.



The study included 1741 people from central Pennsylvania, a thousand women and 741 men, average age 50 years, including 8% of women and 4% of men complain of chronic insomnia and sleep less than 6 hours a night.



It turns out that men who do not suffer from insomnia, died 9%, and those who suffer from insomnia, but sleep more than 6 hours, 13% died, while the percentage of those who died and were complaining of insomnia and sleep less than 6 hours at 51%.
