Smokers are more prone to heart disease

Recent American study revealed that women smokers are more prone to heart disease compared to men, scientists could not yet determine the reasons.

The newspaper "Arabs," London said the study by researchers at the University of Minnesota, U.S., found that the risk of heart disease is the most, by a quarter, in women smokers than men.

She spoke of the study, which included 2.4 million smokers, that smoking increases the risk of developing hardening of the arteries and therefore the risk to heart attack, twice.

She described the British Heart Care Foundation study results as "frightening", especially since the fact of women smoke fewer cigarettes compared to the number of cigarettes smoked by men.

The World Health Organization, heart disease, one of the most deadly diseases, die because of more than 7 million people a year.

The researchers said the reason behind the increased risk of smokers developing heart disease than men, it is still not clear yet, but there are two possible reasons, the first biological differences between the sexes, and the second method of smoking women.
